In November 2022 We got an email from a user who claimed to have been victimized by fraud.
Scammers claimed the person was the winner of the Mega Millions lottery jackpot.
The scammers gave the victim a "claim number for the check" and advised
the victim to visit an area Dollar General store. The victim was instructed to transfer
$475 via Western Union, in order to claim the prize. Fortunately,
the victim didn't appear to have made any payments to the fraudsters.
Mega Millions does not have Fees
To make it certain, Mega Millions published on its Official site that
there isn't any cost to claim a genuine jackpot. If someone claims to be associated with
Mega Millions and asks for money to get prizes, it's likely to be an untruth.
